Hello there!
First off i would like to say thank you for stopping by and showing interested in what will be our official recruitment post :)
You are most likely expecting to find a nice little list containing something like "We do a bunch of stuff and we are looking for players of this and this kind". Well,i am sorry to disapoint you.
The following post will indeed contain some basic information regarding the corp,but you will have to read a bunch of stuff you dont care about before you get to that part ;)
Our corp is over 5 years old,sort of on the middle of the tree when it comes to members. As most corps we do have our share of alts,but we do our best to make sure inactive members gets
removed from the corp on a regular basis.
We do have a forum,but unless your a member it wont do you any good,sorry about that.We are not a part of some large and important 0.0 alliance and feel that everyone is a spy that is trying to get to our personal forum drama so it can be posted left and right,we simply just like having some privacy ;) But if you are interested in a membership in Phoibe you should be warned that we requiere our members to read the forums when they do get the posebilety to log in.If you have time
to log in and do a mission,or check on your industry jobs,you have the time to spend 2 minutes on reading a forum ;)The reason the forums are so important is because we have members in all timezones,and we simply dont have any other way to efficently discuss corp changes,improvments or yell at eachother.Unless you count spamming corp mail that is but im sure many of you know how annoying it is when you get 5-6 corp/alliance mails every single day!
That should have answeared a few of your first basic questions you will have for any corp your considering joining.
I wont lie,most of us are older,angry people who can't wait until they can retire and scream at kids that dare to even look at their lawn. In other words,we have famelies,school,work and a social life.
These things are first priorety for our members and we have learned to function with this.But this also means that we dont really have any prescheduled operations. Do they happen? Sure once in a great while,but we do prefer that members try to create their own operations and just drag people that are online with them to do whatever.
This however is a playstyle that many dont like,and many think that its directors/CEO's "job" to make sure that you have something something to do.I can say right away that if you have this mindset,you will not be interested in joining this corp.
But keep in mind that just because we have an older playerbase,it dosent mean that this is the kind of corp that you would want your 6 year old daughter to read
the corp chat.An online game is a way for people to get away from the stress of real life,to lay back,get drunk and mess around.This means that the language can
be offensive,with plenty of swearing,and an unlimited ammount of "dirty" jokes and comments.
We show respect for eachother,but its not a church ;)

If you dont understand what kind of personalety we look for by now,i doubt you will be a good fitt.
But if you do understand what we are looking for you might worry "But i only have ***** sp! They would never accept me!".
Phoibe does not care about your sp,how many fancy ships you fly or your kb record (ok if you have a bad habbit of constantly loosing ships and dont learn from your mistake we might have something to talk about).
Phoibe will gladly accept new players,and because of our widely spread playerbase and interests you can get most of your questions answeared if you just dare to ask them. We would be happy to help :)
The only thing we do not accept is piracy. Sorry its just how it is. This includes things like ninja salvaging,can flipping,baiting and so on.

I was asked to write a short summary of my experiences in Phoibe by NC. I started out Eve as one of "those pilots" that always seemed to get bored with my Corp when they went down in members base and noone was on or I was forced into something I really didn't want to do. I would then "recycle" my character and start the whole process over again. That is until NC found me and made Phoibe my family. I was once known by another name in Phoibe but had an accident at a gate camp that cost 20mil isk. Not alot now but for a player that never got started it was at the time. It was then out of distress that I started my destructive process over again. After I killed my character I was emailed by NC and asked why I had left. I explained my situation and thought everyone hated me. She assured me that this was not the case and after rejoining the Corp missioned with me and baron blackblade until I had earned back the 20 mil to give to my creditor. No one gives you anything in this Corp but they are always willing to help you earn it. Over my time in Phoibe I've seen many pilots pass through and many of them have gone onto other and greater things, but they always know as I do that they will always have a home to come back to in Phoibe. I say we are a family because our leadership is like a mother and father strong, firm, and at all times fair and our member base are brothers and sisters always looking out for each other. We applaud and try to help each other in our achievements in Eve and also congratulate each other on RL accomplishments as well. We may bicker and argue from time to time but that's just the nature of families. In the end we do it because we would like to see the best possible outcome for all of our family members. If you have a setback I guarantee at least 3 members will not say "why did you do that" but "how can I help" and I love every single one of them for that. Phoibe is drawn from all races and eve skills. We have miners, pvp guys, expirates, expatriates, WH pros, Heros, outstanding recruiters/beautiful diplomats, real girls, firemen, paramedics, bums, and people who's "finger slipped". This makes for a wide knowledge base on which to draw from and some Interesting humor to say the least. So if you are an old head Eve player that knows most of the ropes and is looking for a laid back adult family type atmosphere or a young buck that is still trying to figure out the difference between a mining laser and a target painter and has alot of questions Phoibe is the home and family for you. I like Scotch.
